We are recruiting Home Carers with emphasis on reablement into our busy HICT team. We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated person with experience or willingness to learn, to support customer’s reablement on a daily basis.



  • Visiting customers in their own homes, meeting the aims and objectives of customers’ personalised care plans.
  • Helping and encouraging customers to do certain activities on their own or with your assistance to promote their independence.
  • Tasks to include maintaining personal and hygiene needs, preparing meals and drinks, administering medication and supporting with washing, dressing or paying a bill.
  • It will be necessary to use a range of lifting and transporting equipment in a safe manner.
  • You are responsible for maintaining daily records of all activities, referring any issues of concern to the line manager.


Abilities & Skills:

  • Compassionate, enthusiastic & kind. Ability to comply with the individuals care plan. Using specialist manual handling equipment when required.
  • Supportive listening and to provide guidance. To cope under pressure and to build relationships.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Good planning skills and use of own initiative.
  • Good IT skills for online training, learning and development courses. Willingness to complete NVQ level 2 in care.
  • Dedicated and passionate about making a difference in our customer lives


Location: Chedworth Close, Ecton Brook, Northampton

Rota to include: Early shifts, late shifts and alternate weekends


What we Offer:

  • You will be working to a set rota pattern over a 2 or 4 week period, you will be paid enhancements for Sunday and Bank Holiday working
  • You will receive 24 days paid annual leave and 8 bank holidays per annum (pro-rata for part time staff)
  • A competitive hourly rate
  • Working as part of a team and having the support of management as well as colleagues.
  • You will be paid for the full shift, this will include travel time
  • You will be paid 45p per mile for the first 10,000 miles you drive using your own vehicle, provided you have business insurance.
  • We have a small pool of cars which subject to availability you can use If there is a problem with your car.
  • Free uniforms provided and a DBS arranged and Paid for by Olympus.
  • Employee Assistance available 24/7 providing free confidential information and support.
  • You will receive a fully paid training and shadowing with another member of the team until you are confident to work independently.
  • You will be issued with a work mobile phone with an online scheduling system to ensure your safety while lone working.
  • Enrolment in the Northamptonshire County Council Pension Scheme after a qualifying period.
