Reablement Support Worker

Job description: Reablement_Support_Worker

‘I make a difference to people’s lives every day – now that is job satisfaction at its best!’

Are you looking for a challenging but rewarding job opportunity within Adult Social Care? Feel like you can support the people of Northamptonshire to achieve their personal goals as well as developing your own career goals?

If the answer is yes, then this is the job role for you! We can offer you a secure career in these uncertain times.

Now is the time to join our fantastic, ever developing Reablement Team. We are seeking individuals who are passionate, resourceful and have limitless creativity.

As a Reablement Worker you will support frail or vulnerable adults, who may have had a change to their health, routine or lifestyle and are finding it difficult to live independently.

Within this role you will see first-hand the progression of your work and feel the difference that you are making to that person.

A full driving license and access to your own vehicle is essential for this role as you will be travelling countywide, supporting our customers within their own homes.

Main responsibilities:

  • Respond to emergency situations in the community in partnership with health services, assessing who can be supported at home and providing short term support to maintain the person’s safety.
  • Undertake risk, manual handling and medication assessments in order to safeguard both staff and person.
  • Maintain case records. Including written, verbal and using our bespoke IT system.
  • Liaise with health care professionals. Maintaining good links with local communities and other agencies.
  • Assess for, request and install low and mid-level equipment

What we can give you:

  • Flexible working hours
  • Training and development opportunities are supported and encouraged.
  • Competitive pay rates
  • A generous amount of Annual Leave
  • Company pension scheme
  • Sick Pay Scheme (following successful completion of the probation period)
  • Mileage paid at HMRC rates (45p per mile)

It is an exciting time to be working in local government in Northamptonshire with the journey towards the creation of two brand new unitary authorities in April 2021.  The committed approach from the whole public sector to deliver the two unitaries will present significant opportunities for joining up and transforming service delivery to ensure the best possible outcomes for our residents.
