Shared Lives Carer

Here at Olympus Care Services we pride ourselves on delivering great support and care to help you or your loved ones live a full and active life within your community.

Olympus’ Shared Lives scheme allows our carers to provide comfortable family environments within their own home, and personalised care for adults with a range of complex needs; from physical or learning disabilities to elderly people, enabling them to live life as independently as possible in the community.

It is important for carers to have the time, patience and passion to provide the support our customers need to live well and become more independent. Perhaps this could mean having someone in the family at home during the day, a flexible lifestyle or even just a spare room for someone to call their own.

Ideally you will have previously cared for someone in a work or home environment, however you will be fully trained as one of our Shared Lives carers to be able to provide assistance with personal care, medication and general domestic tasks – with continuous support to ensure the placement is working well and rewarding for everyone.

Joining our scheme offers fantastic benefits for our customers; from a consistent and reliable source of help and opportunities for more independent living, to companionship and friendship as individuals flourish as ‘part of the family’.

Shared Lives carers are assessed and will be paid according to the type of support they provide. Special HMRC tax arrangements cover most Shared Lives placements and many carers do not have to pay income tax on their earnings.

If you feel that you could join our team of Shared Lives carers and really make a genuine and fulfilling difference to someone’s life, or simply would like more information, then please don’t hesitate to get in touch – we would be thrilled to hear from you!
