Site Supervisor – Beech Close

Driver essential.

Salary: £17,068 (pro rata)

 

As a handyperson it will be your job to carry out various maintenance jobs within our residential home, Beech Close. Having a broad range of craftsmanship and practical skills will prove useful when carrying out repairs or general maintenance. The work can range from simple building maintenance to plumbing, painting, and gardening. 

 

Abilities and skills:

  • Ability to resolve problems and adhere to health and safety guidelines  
  • Ability to deal with other contractors or maintenance workers  
  • Being resourceful and self-motivated  
  • Physically capable of working with machinery or moving furniture etc.
  • Being flexible  
  • Able to resolve complaints quickly and efficiently  
  • Able to work as part of a team  
  • Good communication skills

 

The job is varied and could see you painting a wall one day and repairing a cupboard door the next. It depends on the requirements of the location you are working at, some of your regular duties could include:  

  • Changing light bulbs and ensuring other fixtures and fittings are in good working order  
  • Minor plumbing and carpentry  
  • Clearing or cleaning general areas  
  • Shifting furniture or equipment  
  • Assembling furniture or equipment  
  • Garden maintenance  
  • Painting and decorating   
  • Laise with contractors to organise and schedule work to be carried out on premises in accordance with the timetable, and monitor the work carried out to ensure it complies with the contract and meets the required standards for health and safety.
  • Demonstrate awareness and understanding of equal opportunities and other people’s behavioural, physical, social and welfare needs.
  • Carry out any other duties which fall within the broad spirit, scope and purpose of this job description and which are commensurate with the grade of the post.
